The Farewell Pilgrimage:
In the tenth year of migration (10 Hijri) the Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him ) performed his first and the last Hajj (Pilgrimage) in Mecca along with one hundred twenty-thousand (120,000) Muslim men and women, who came across the Arabian peninsula to fulfil their religious obligation.
The Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him ) taught them the observances of faith and the rituals of Hajj (Pilgrimage). He advised them as well as gave them final instructions and administered them an oath to follow his teachings. The mission of the Prophet of God (Peace Be Upon Him ) was almost complete and soon he was to bid farewell. The Prophet God (Peace Be Upon Him ) also received the "last revelation" during this pilgrimage.
The Quran says:
"This day I have perfected your religion, completed my favors upon you, and declared Islam as your Religion" (Al-Maaidah:3)
The Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him ) delivered the last sermons, on the 9th Day of Dhul Hijjah (10th Hijri) in the Uranah Valley of mount Arafat, during the farewell pilgrimage. This sermon is the first ever "Charter Of Humanity" known to world.
