The Eternal Rest:
After Performing Hajj (Pilgrimage) Prophet (Peace Be Upon
Him ) returned back to Madina. Two months later, the Prophet (Peace
Be Upon Him ) fell ill and after several days of illness he (Peace
Be Upon Him) breathed his last on Monday, 12th Rabi al-Awwal,
the eleventh year after migration (11 Hijri).
When the Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him ) was about
to breathe his last, he (Peace Be Upon Him ) said
repeatedly "Lo! Be careful of prayer and of those
whom you possess or have under your charge." He (Peace
Be Upon Him) continued to repeat these words until they became inaudible
but it appeared that he (Peace Be Upon Him) was trying
to express them.
Aaisha (Allah be pleased with her), relates that while she has started reciting the last two Chapters of the Quran, the Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) lifted up his eyes in the last moment and said,
"With the Exalted Companion!"
The Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) is
buried in the chamber of his house next to the Prophet’s Mosque in Madina.
