The Year of Grief:
Soon after the end of the boycott, in the tenth year of his mission, the Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) lost his uncle and the chief of the tribe, Abu Talib and his loving wife, Khadijah (Allah be pleased with her). Both were his true helpers and devotedly attached to him. Their deaths meant a great loss to the Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him). This year is known as "The year of grief". Another uncle of the Prophet, Abu-Lahab, who was an inveterate enemy of Islam, now succeeded to the headship of the tribe.
