Drinking Manners:
1) Fresh water:- The Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) used to drink good fresh water.
2) Gratitude to Allah for good-tasting water for:- The Quran says: "Were it Our Will We could make it salt (and unpalatable): then why do ye not give thanks?" (56.70 )
3) The one on the right should drink first:-Milk mixed with water was brought to Allah's Apostle (Peace be upon him) while a villager was on his right and Abu Bakr (a close friend) was on his left. He drank (of it) and then gave (it) to the villager and sai: '"The right" "The right (first)."'
4) Breathing in to a vessel:- Allah's Apostle (Peace be upon him) said: 'When you drink (water), do not breathe in the vessel; and when you urinate, do not touch your penis with your right hand. And when you cleanse yourself after defecation, do not use your right hand.'
5) Breathing while drinking:- The Prophet (Peace be upon him) used to take three breaths (out of the vessel) while drinking.
6) Drinking water from the mouth of a water skin/container:- Allah's Apostle (Peace be upon him) forbade drinking directly from the mouth of a water skin or other leather containers. and forbade preventing one's neighbor from fixing a peg in (the wall of) one's house.
7) Drinking in Gold/silver vessels:- The Prophet (Peace be upon him) forbade us to wear clothes of silk or Dibaj, and to drink in gold or silver utensils, and said: 'These things are for unbelievers in this world and for believers in the Hereafter.'
8) wastage of water:- The Quran says: "O children of Adam! wear your beautiful apparel at every time and place of prayer: eat and drink: but waste not by excess for Allah loveth not the wasters." (7.31)
