Peace:
Islam is a religion of peace. It teaches mankind to live in peace with the Creator, within one's self, with other people and with the environment. A Muslim is supposed to live in peace and harmony with all these segments. Islam is against unnecessary battles, bloodshed and killing of people. It outlines the certain conditions of war and as well as its limits.
The Quran says:
"Fight in the cause of God against those who fight
you, but do not transgress limits. God does not love transgressors." (2.190)
The Quran says: "If they seek peace, then seek you peace. And trust in God for He is the One that hear and know all things." (8.61)
The Quran says: “God forbids you not, with regards to those who fight you not for [your] faith nor drive you out of your homes, from dealing kindly and justly with them; for God loveth those who are just”. ( 60.8)
War, therefore, is the last resort, and is subject to the rigorous conditions laid down by the sacred law. Making peace between the people through mediation also has great importance in Islam.
The Quran says: "And if two groups of believers fall to fighting then, make peace between them." (49.9)
The Messenger of God (Peace be upon him) is reported to have said: 'He who makes peace between the people by inventing good information or saying good things, is not a liar.'
