Pilgrimage:
The performance of pilgrimage to Mecca is required once in a life time if means are available. Hajj (pilgrimage) is performed in memory of the trials and tribulations of Prophet Abraham, his wife Hagar and his eldest son Prophet Ishmael. Muslim from all walks of life, from every corner of the globe assemble in Mecca in response to the call of Allah. There is no royalty but loyalty of all to Allah, the Creator.
The main objective of this worship is to purify the soul and breath in the sprit of abstinence. So that relations with the Creator are strengthened, love for Allah and His Messenger should outstrip every other type of love. If a Muslim perform Hajj (pilgrimage) in its true sprit the God accepts his worship and forgives all his previous sins.
The Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) said: 'If a person is not hampered by any disease, real necessities or a tyrannical ruler and yet does not perform Hajj (pilgrimage), his death and the death of a Jew or a Christian is the same.'
Allah's Messenger (Peace be upon him) said:
'When you meet one who has performed the pilgrimage, greet him, shake hands with
him and tell him to ask forgiveness for you before he enters his house, for he
has been forgiven.'
