Islamic practices are based on the lunar calendar. A lunar year comprises on, an average, 355 days. Which means a lunar year is 10 days shorter than the solar year. Hence Islamic year moves 10 days ahead in each solar calendar year. An Islamic month comprises of either 29 or 30 days. The beginning of an Islamic month is subject to the citing of new moon in the region/ hemisphere. A maximum 2 days difference is possible in Islamic date around the world, resulting Festivals & Important days celebrations on different days.
